Masarap Lumpia is on Facebook!

Masarap Lumpia is a home-base business started by two sisters, Dynasty & Philos, who love to cook & entertain. Making food was a way to show how much you love & care for your friends and family. This is what our mother taught us.

Masarap Lumpia is NOT a restaurant. We are a made-to-order Lumpia business, registered in Ventura County in the State of California. We make all our lumpias FRESH, then froze them for your convenience. You order, we make it, and although we fulfill orders very quickly, we can get backlogged very quickly as well.

Please know that people order all the time, putting in their orders all hours of the day, so what ever "inventory" we do have, does not last long. We have choices of lumpia shanghai, vegetable lumpia & turon. Lumpia shanghai is typicaly made with beef or beef/pork combo. We have it available w/ ground chicken, ground turkey & fish, which are special orders & may cost more than the typical beef/pork lumpia.

Vegetable lumpia orders have to be made to order! So, we never have them in inventory (unless someone drops an order). Typically we make this w/ zuccini, carrot, celery, onion & bean sprouts. You can add a meat for an additional cost.

Turon is a basically a banana/plantain lumpia, with jack fruit & caramelized w/ brown sugar as it fries. It is DELICIOUS. If you've never had you, you have GOT to try it!

The recipes & methods of cooking were something that was passed from one generation to the next. My mother wanted to make sure that we were well rounded women. She took pride in being a good homemaker, while also providing for her family as she did it. So, we make the BEST LUMPIA because that is how our mother taught us how.

No frills, Just GOOD food...Masarap!

History of Lumpia

Lumpia are pastries of Chinese origin similar to spring rolls popular in the Philippines and Indonesia. The term lumpia derives from lunpia (traditional Chinese: 潤餅; pinyin: rùnbǐng; POJ: jūn-piáⁿ, lūn-piáⁿ) in the Hokkien language.

The recipe, both fried and fresh versions, was brought by the Chinese immigrants from the Fujian province of China to Southeast Asia and became popular where they settled in the Philippines and Indonesia.

In the Netherlands, it is spelled loempia which is the old Indonesian spelling for lumpia and has also become the generic name for "spring roll" in Dutch. A variant is the Vietnamese lumpia, wrapped in a thinner piece of pastry, in a size close to a spring roll though the wrapping closes the ends off completely, which is typical for lumpia.
